This sprint, we aimed to bring the electrical and software components significantly past our minimum viable product. This would let us focus more intently on expanding the mechanical system and integrating it next sprint, which is our main challenge. We expected to be over-scoped, with some work bleeding into future sprints.
This sprint's product is a standalone JuCube with an integrated reactive element. We took a step back and do not have a spinning record while we bring forward the technical aspects of integrating a motor with our current electrical system, but we have scaled the JuCube up to 1.5x the original size. It is now completely standalone with the ability to play music on its own. We also integrated real time beat detection using a transistor.
Next sprint we are aiming for a complete system. We want to fully integrate all components from this sprint as well as develop and integrate an engaging activation element beyond a single button press.
Biggest Technical Risk
Our biggest technical risk will be integration and design of our record changer. The biggest obstacle right now is that the libraries we wanted to use for two components interfere with each other as the LED strip Arduino library disables interrupts and the servo library uses interrupts.
