Our Synthesizer Project Objectives
We aimed to build a combination analog and digital synthesizer that can be played with a keyboard and has a richness of sound that can be adjusted through the use of knobs, sliders, and a tuning fork. Our final system contains two square-wave oscillators controlled by a MIDI controller (keyboard). One of these has an adjustable frequency. There is also an adjustable ADSR envelope what controls the gain of a voltage controlled amplifier in order to shape the sound. The tuning fork also adjusts the gain of the voltage controlled amplifier to affect the sound.
Synth Note Creation
When different notes are pressed, you can head the corresponding pitch changes in output signal. The pitch information has been translated in the appropriate frequency of the square wave. The sound you hear in this video is coming from the headphones.
